Corregidor

Here are some shots that we took on our way to the historic, exciting, and wonderful island of Corregidor. A place where warm people just welcome you with friendly smiles and where excitement never ends.

Japanese Memorial Garden

We went to Corregidor Island last June 14-15, 2008. We just decided to go hit the road and go some place that we have not yet visited before. Our friends Ganie and Ais gamely accompanied us. We really enjoyed the trip....the sights....the experience....the pieces of history....and the friendly and accommodating people of Corregidor.

Eternal Flame of Freedom

North Dock, Corregidor Island

We truly had a lot of firsts in Corregidor. We had the chance to enjoy the sunset at Battery Ramsey, explore the lateral tunnels of Malinta Tunnel...oh yes...at night, including the 1,000 bed hospital near the north entrance of the tunnel complex, amazed by the sunrise at the eternal flame of freedom, explore a japanese tunnel, climb atop the spanish lighthouse, and of course....the first hand experience of the ghosts of the Island.

More pics to come...

Corregidor

Though the trip was really made at the spur of the moment....we never had doubts that we shall enjoy the surprises in store for us there.

Japanese Tunnels....dotting the shoreline

Ahhh...serenity at last.

Inspired by the trams of San Francisco...they too used to have rails around the island.
